Praise Report – GOD is good…
Mark’s doctor reported the following great news – On Monday August 30th Mark walked 300 feet x 3 – which is the same distance of a football field without a walker or assistance. He has made such a dramatic recovery that his doctor is preparing the paperwork for his discharge to go home in a few days and a plan to return to work shortly.
GOD is good.

Mark was released from St. Vincent Hospital on Wednesday August 25th. He is at RHI (Rehab Hospital of Indiana) where he is receiving physical and occupational therapy daily. We really like RHI and the facility is family friendly.

On Saturday August 21, Mark was moved from ICU to a regular unit at St. Vincent Hospital. His blood pressure is down and is in a good range. It is wonderful that Mark is able to call home on a regular bases now and is able to see the children more – since he is in a regular unit. He and the kids watched cartoons together and had a lot to share. OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD.
Mark says thanks to everyone for your outpouring of love to him and his family. He is filled with the joy of the Lord – which is our strength.
Mark Maxey suffered a stroke and was taken to St. Vincent Hospital for emergency surgery.
On Sunday morning August 15th, Mark was sweating, dizzy, and sick to his stomach. EMS took him to the hospital – his blood pressure was very high. Sunday while at the hospital he developed a bad headache and his blood pressure remained high. Monday morning, August 16th they had to do emergency surgery. Marc had a blocked blood vessel and they also removed dead brain tissue.
He is recovering well…He is walking, talking, feeding himself, great long term memory. The factor now is getting is blood pressure down so that he can be moved from ICU to a step down unit.
Yesterday he ate real food – yeah

A stroke is the sudden death of brain cells in a localized area due to inadequate blood flow.
Mark suffered a Cerebellar infarction – this is an important cause of stroke that often presents with common and non-specific symptoms such as dizziness, nausea and vomiting, unsteady gait, and headache.

Mark was in good shape, and his diet was okay but could have used some improvements. The cause of the stroke was undiagnosed high blood pressure.
We do not know how long his recovery will take, however he is doing well under the circumstances. No visitors at this time – he is still in the ICU.
Please email me at laquita.maxey@yahoo.com or text me at 317 945 8671 – it has been hard to keep up with all the telephone calls. We love you all very much.
My in-laws have been in Indianapolis this week helping alot. Our church family has been a big help. My pastor and one of Mark’s best friend Paul were at the hospital with me at 4:00 a.m. when I received the call regarding the emergency surgery. Our friends in Indy have been a blessing. It has been amazing to see the outpouring of love from across the United States to calls and emails from our friends in Brazil.
God bless and thank you thank you thank you – we love you all
